Cool Trailers!

In the next couple weeks, the group will be making "mock-trailers" to play during the festivals. The idea is drawing a genre out of a hat, and work on them either solo or in small groups. They plan to make it a mini-competiton between groups. Think Grindhouse-esque trailers of outrageous movie ideas meets the competitiveness of reality TV, sound like fun!!!!!

Magnum XL P.I. Update

UPDATED CASTING CALL SCHEDULE FOR ALL YOU WOULD-BE STARS OUT THERE!

Magnum XL P.I.

- This film is still in its pre-production stage and casting calls start in 5 days so anyone who wants to try their hand at acting can come out and try to be a star!!!
- On Saturday the director will attempt to recreate a fight scene from The Bourne Identity using the angles and cuts shown in the film (nobody's going thru a window this time though)!
- On Sunday casting will be from 1pm - 5pm

Quick tidbits on the Sound of Rockets

- All the fighting scenes in the movie have been finished, so 48 of the total 82 minute running time has been sequenced.

- A cast and crew party will be held on Saturday, November 20th

More on Myra

 Myra, the group’s newest feature film, is a story about an ambition-less senator’s aide who meets a girl and tries to protect her from an old friend trying to take her home against her wishes.  The film is written by Branden Szabo, filmed by Frank Papa, and directed by Michael Campanizzi.  It is slated for release in the spring of 2010.

Welcome to Show Business!

You have reached the hub for University of Akron filmmaking. I will be updating 

you throughout the semester on the comings and goings 2380 Project.  

For those unfamiliar, The 2380 Project is a student run production group from 

the University of Akron. They make films from the ground up including 

scripting, casting, shooting, and editing.

They meet every Monday at 4:30 in Kolbe Hall room 111 at the University of 

Akron. And students are welcome to see them in action. 

I will keep you posted on upcoming events and projects in the works, as well 

as profile some of the more active members of the group. Also hope to get a 

couple trailers up (fingers-crossed!) at some point this semester.
